Post the cheat codes for all three games that you know! Right now I only remember ones for DKC3, so that's what I'll post.

Color: changes kong color scheme
Merry: changes bonus room music and collectibles
Asave: saves after each level automatically
Music: access music test screen
Lives: 50 lives in the life counter

I'll see if I remember more later.

replying to a 13-month old topic, I know. But I do have codes from the SNES games off the top of my head:

DYDDY: Practice Animal Buddy Bonus Rounds
BARRAL: 50 Lives
DARBYDAY: sound test

BARRALAX: No barrels
YASADLAD: 49 Lives

HARDR: No DK Barrels
TUFST: No Star Barrels
WATER: Enter the waterfall near Bazaar's store and get 85 Bonus Coins

Is it just me or are the cheat codes from the first two DKC games somehow much more obscure than those from DKC3? Perhaps it's just because the codes from DKC3 have a lot more significant changes like adding a Christmas theme or changing the Kongs' colors.

You might be right, and DKC3 also has many more cheats than DKC1 and DKC2 do.

3's were likely more easily documented because they're easier to remember.
